Elizabeth Boyson
About Me.
Elizabeth Boyson’s musical interests began while attending her older siblings’ weekly violin lessons. After observing many lessons, Elizabeth began her formal training studying first at the Suzuki Music Institute. Not long afterward, Elizabeth began to study with the late Mr. Arkady Fomin. During this time, Elizabeth participated in the New Conservatory of Dallas and performed in the “2014 Next Generation Concert.”
In the fall of 2014, Elizabeth began studying with nationally recognized and former concertmaster of the Dallas symphony orchestra, Mr. Jan Mark Sloman. While working with Mr. Sloman, Elizabeth was a top winner in the Dallas Symphonic Festival for three consecutive years, and she also performed with the Mu Phi Epsilon Concert Series.
In 2018, after moving from Dallas, Texas, to Washington D.C., Elizabeth was fortunate enough to continue her studies under the careful guidance of Mr. Herbert Greenberg, internationally acclaimed performer, former longtime concertmaster of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and who is currently faculty at the Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute. Elizabeth currently participates with the Peabody Pre-Conservatory Violin Program, the Peabody Youth Orchestra, and the Peabody Performance Academy Chamber group. In 2021-22, Elizabeth performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto as winner of the Peabody Concerto Competition. Elizabeth has also performed in masterclasses taught by highly esteemed musicians such as the Brentano String Quartet, Vadim Gluzman, and Midori Goto.
Elizabeth’s interests, outside of music, include reading, learning about other cultures and their languages, fashion, walking/working out, cooking/baking, and traveling. Elizabeth also volunteers her time to the Tacy Foundation and Do Re Mi Project.
